# GiftQuest > GiftQuest wraps a digital gift in a short quest. The creator builds a few steps — a question, a multiple choice, a date, a number, a secret code, a QR treasure hunt, a photo puzzle, birthday candles to blow out, a message, an unlock timer — around a gift (text, a link or a file). The recipient opens the link or scans the QR code in any browser and must pass every step before the gift unlocks. Free up to 10 steps; Quest+ is an optional one-time purchase per quest. No app, no sign-up for the recipient. Typical uses: birthday and anniversary surprises, Christmas and New Year gifts, advent calendars, treasure hunts for kids, Valentine's Day, weddings, gifts for mom, handing over a gift certificate, promo code or tickets, team and client gifts. Available in English, Ukrainian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and Polish. ## What it can do - Step types: typed question (several accepted spellings, optional photo), multiple choice, secret code (hide it on a card, under a pillow, in a cake), a date picked in a calendar, a number (optionally within ± a margin), a QR treasure hunt (print QR cards from the builder and hide them; the recipient scans one with the phone camera or types the code printed under it), photo puzzle, blowing out birthday candles (into the microphone, or with a tap), story/message pages (optionally under a scratch-off layer), an unlock time for the gift. All of them are free. - The gift: text (a code, a wish, a password), a link, or a file (photo, video, audio, PDF, gift certificate, tickets). - Gift together: the creator can send an invite link so several friends edit the same quest (co-editing; everyone on the team sees each other's email). Made for group gifts. - Create with AI: connect the MCP server below to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant, describe the gift in a sentence, and the assistant writes the quest and returns the link. With Quest+ the thank-you can also carry a photo and a voice message. - Hand it over in person: download the QR code or print a postcard with it. - Privacy of the surprise: the answers and the gift stay on the server and reach the recipient's browser only after every step is passed. - Free themes: classic, birthday, love, New Year. - Quest+ (one-time, per quest, no subscription): up to 30 steps, premium themes (gold, galaxy, sakura, ocean), photos in more than one question (one is free) and in messages (also under the scratch-off layer), up to 60 candles and a photo on the cake, QR treasure cards printed in the premium theme with your own line, voice and video greetings, an advent calendar (steps that open on set dates), several files in one gift, bigger files, a custom link, the creator sees the recipient's progress, the recipient can reply with a photo or a voice message, and the quest is kept for as long as GiftQuest runs and the account is in use, instead of being deleted after a year.
